Alberta Forestry and Parks is seeking a Snow Clearing Specialist to join the team at William Watson Lodge in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. This winter seasonal position offers the opportunity to work in a spectacular mountain setting while helping keep park facilities safe and accessible for visitors, including seniors and persons with disabilities.
Position Highlights:
✅ Full-time winter seasonal role (November 2026 to March/April 2027)
✅ $25.55 to $31.27 per hour
✅ Additional 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay
✅ $3.25/hour weekend premium
✅ Staff housing available
✅ Training provided

William Watson Lodge Society to Attend Razzle Dazzle Carnival
The William Watson Lodge Society is pleased to be participating in the Razzle Dazzle Carnival, hosted by the Bow Valley Connections Centre.
This free, inclusive community event welcomes children ages 5 to 13 with developmental disabilities, along with their friends and families. Attendees can enjoy an afternoon of live music, face painting, games, and prizes.

Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Canmore Collegiate High School Field (or Canmore Recreation Centre, weather dependent)

Envelope Stuffing Day Brings Community Together at William Watson Lodge
On Saturday, January 17, the William Watson Lodge Society Board of Directors, together with an incredible team of volunteers, gathered at the Lodge to prepare and mail the 2026 Society newsletter, along with membership renewal and donation information.
The annual envelope‑stuffing event was a tremendous success, with more than 1,300 envelopes mailed to Society members and donors. A heartfelt thank‑you goes out to every volunteer who contributed their time and energy. This gathering has become a highlight each year, reflecting the spirit of community that lies at the heart of the William Watson Lodge Society’s mission and values.

Volunteer Opportunity: Envelope Stuffing and Newsletter Drive - January 24
Join us at the William Watson Lodge on Saturday January 24, 2026 to stuff envelopes and newsletters, all going to William Watson Lodge Society members. All members of the public, William Watson Lodge Society members, and guests of the lodge are welcome to volunteer!
If you are staying at the William Watson Lodge on the weekend of January 23-25, William Watson Lodge Society Board members will be available to take memberships and answer questions.

William Watson Lodge Society is proud to partner with the National accessArts Centre, for a residency program at the William Watson Lodge. The residency program offers artists with lived experience of disability to connect with nature in a barrier-free environment.
The William Watson Lodge Society has provided the funds, through public donations, to support the stays of all four residents at the William Watson Lodge.
